Hi all! I have been granted some money by Burghfield Residents Association to set up a bi-monthly group for autistic families (families with one or more member on the autistic spectrum) at Burghfield Village Hall. The group will feature soft play and sensory equipment from Swings and Smiles in Newbury, plus a games room with lego, pokemon, crafts etc. We will have use of a kitchen to make drinks and will provide cakes. The group is for families to meet and chat, all parents/carer's remain responsible for their children at all time as this not meant as a short break type club. I'm setting it up as I feel many autistic families miss out on the same opportunities to socialise with other families as our children don't always "click" at school with friends and peers. I feel for autistic families the best support and friendships come from other autistic families whose children share similar interests and quirks to our own. Keep in touch for more details.

Hi, it will really depends who turns up! I'm trying to set up a variety of activities for all though - so soft play and possibly a bouncy castle for those who want to be active in the main hall, a sensory room and a games room with pokemon cards, lego, crafts etc.
